Six of the top 10 foal-producing states increased their production of registered foals from 1997-2007, with the largest percentage gains in New Mexico and Louisiana where foal production more than doubled. Two other states — New York and Pennsylvania — each increased their production by more than 35% during this time, with smaller gains recorded in Florida and Kentucky.
