The Jockey Club Tour on FOX Sports 1 Continues with Grade I Races at Monmouth, Saratoga and Woodbine | |||||||||||||||||
The Jockey Club Tour on FOX Sports 1 will kick off its summer schedule on Sunday, July 5, with live coverage of the Grade I United Nations Stakes from Monmouth Park in Oceanport, N.J. For 3-year-olds and up, the race will be run at 1 3/8 miles on the turf. The tour will continue with coverage of the Grade I Hopeful Stakes on September 7 at Saratoga Racecourse and of the Grade I Ricoh Woodbine Mile at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto on September 13. Earlier in the season, The Jockey Club Tour on FOX Sports 1 showcased the matchup of Eclipse Award winners California Chrome and Shared Belief in the San Antonio Stakes, Prince Bishop’s victory in the $10 million Dubai World Cup, and Divining Rod’s win in the Coolmore Lexington Stakes at Keeneland. “In the aftermath of American Pharoah’s historic Triple Crown win, we are looking forward to showcasing some of North America’s most prestigious races to a new wave of racing fans,” said Jason Wilson, president of TJC Media Ventures. “These three races will provide an early look at some of the turf horses, 2-year-olds, and older horses who will be aiming for the Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Keeneland in late October.” “American Pharoah has put racing back on the front page and given all of us who love the game something to cheer for,” said Michael Mulvihill, senior vice president, FOX Sports programming and research. “We’re eager to get our Fox Sports 1 team back to the track at this special time for horse racing, and we’re especially looking forward to kicking off our July 5 show from Monmouth Park with an extended sit-down with the connections of the 12th Triple Crown Champion.” The Jockey Club Tour on FOX Sports 1’s remaining schedule is as follows:
