Widespread interest in Big Brown’s quest to become the first Triple Crown winner in 30 years helped drive unprecedented traffic to equibase.com, the website for the Thoroughbred industry’s official database, on the three days that comprised the 2008 Triple Crown. On these days, equibase.com hosted a record 1,063,420 visitors, 21 percent more than the corresponding days in 2007 when the site served 878,418 visitors.

This year’s total includes a single-day record of 391,300 visitors on Belmont Stakes day, when Da’ Tara upset Big Brown in his bid to become Thoroughbred racing’s 12^th Triple Crown winner.
