Equibase Launches Virtual Stable 2005 Triple Crown Notification Service

Equibase Company LLC today announced the 2005 launch of the Virtual StableTM Triple Crown notification service, the once-daily e-mail of workouts, entries and results for the top contenders for the VISA® Triple Crown. The service is available at no charge through http://www.ntra.com and http://www.equibase.com.

“These race series notifications reached more than 50,000 fans on a daily basis last spring, helping familiarize fans with the contenders and their preparations while at the same time building and sustaining interest in one of racing’s marquee events,” said Rhonda Norby, marketing and communications manager for Equibase Company.

Included within each notification is a list of upcoming televised races and links to additional information, including entries, charts, past performance programs and editorial content from the web sites of Churchill Downs, Pimlico Race Course and Belmont Park, the host tracks of the Triple Crown races.

Among the initial group of Triple Crown contenders included in the notifications are the 23 horses in the first pool of Churchill Downs’ Kentucky Derby Future Wager, which opened Feb. 10 and closes on Feb. 13. The list will be adjusted periodically to reflect the changing status of the Triple Crown contenders.

The Virtual StableTM Triple Crown notification service was developed in conjunction with the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, Churchill Downs, Maryland Jockey Club and New York Racing Association. Triple Crown notices will conclude following the Belmont Stakes on June 11th. Virtual StableTM Breeders’ Cup notifications will commence later in the summer.
