Equibase Launches 2004 Virtual Stable World Thoroughbred Championships Notification Service

Equibase Company LLC has launched the 2004 Virtual StableTM World Thoroughbred Championships notification service, which notifies users via a once-daily e-mail of workouts, entries and results for the top contenders in all eight divisions of the Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships. The service is available at no charge through www.ntra.com and www.equibase.com.

The Virtual StableTM World Thoroughbred Championships notification service was unveiled in 2002, as was a similar service for the VISA® Triple Crown. Approximately 50,000 fans received these “race series” notifications last year to follow the progress of leading contenders.

Included in the notifications are a list of upcoming televised races and links to additional information such as entries, charts and past performance programs.

“One of Equibase’s primary goals is to use our information to stimulate interest in racing and make it easier for fans to follow and participate in the sport,” said Equibase product development manager, David O’Neill. “Virtual Stable race series notifications have helped us do just that by building interest in our industry’s premier events and by helping fans familiarize themselves with all of the contenders in the months leading up to these events.”

The service tracks approximately 25 horses per division, including the top 10 horses in the World Thoroughbred Championships rankings, and others as determined by the NTRA points system. Information on foreign horses is included when possible with the assistance of various international organizations.

The notifications will conclude following the 21st running of the Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships at Lone Star Park on Oct. 30th.
