Enhanced Race Programs Available on equibase.com

New statistical ratings and expanded past performance information for American Quarter Horses have been incorporated into Official Equibase Race Programs available on equibase.com, it was announced today by Equibase Company LLC.

“These enhancements provide handicappers of Thoroughbred and American Quarter Horse races with exciting new measures on which to assess the merits of each competitor in a race,” said David O’Neill, Equibase product development manager.

American Quarter Horse past performances feature important new data elements and statistics, including sire and dam win percentages; fastest time and best Speed Rating at the distance; average position at the break; jockey and trainer statistics; claim indicator; wind speed; and individual finish times. One page of supplemental race statistics precede the past performances for each race and provide a snapshot of pertinent handicapping information in a bar chart format.

Speed and Class Ratings have also been introduced for American Quarter Horses. These ratings are comparable to the Official Equibase Speed Figures included in Thoroughbred past performances and were developed jointly by TrackMaster, an Equibase company, and the American Quarter Horse Association and Arabian Jockey Club, respectively.

“We’re excited to expand our relationship with Equibase for the benefit of all who handicap American Quarter Horse races,” said Gary Carpenter, executive director of racing for the American Quarter Horse Association. “These new statistics and features open up new avenues of analysis for handicappers, no matter if they’ve been playing the races for years or are relative newcomers to the sport.”

In addition to the new ratings and expanded past performance information, the Official Equibase Race Programs available on equibase.com now include Top 10 Indexes that list the leading jockeys and trainers across a variety of surface and distance categories; post position statistics for sprint, distance and turf races; and multiple download options.
