Adena Springs Leading Breeder for 10th Consecutive Year | |
Adena Springs finished 2012 as the leading individual breeder in North America with earnings of $11,615,141, according to statistics released today by The Jockey Club Information Systems Inc. (TJCIS). In topping the list for the 10th consecutive year, Adena Springs bred the winners of 386 races from 2,946 starts and was followed by Brereton C. Jones, who bred the winners of 230 races from 1,675 starts for earnings of $7,961,894. Adena Springs also finished on top of a second breeder list that includes partnerships. Including partnerships, Adena Springs bred the winners of 428 races from 3,292 starts for earnings of $12,553,534. Runner-up was Brereton C. Jones, who with partnerships bred the winners of 254 races from 1,881 starts for earnings of $8,789,249. Rounding out the list of top 10 individual breeders were Darley, $7,526,855 (96 wins / 523 starts); Kenneth L. Ramsey & Sarah K. Ramsey,$ 6,898,567 (255/1,874); WinStar Farm LLC, $5,477,280 (157/972); Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings LLC, $5,070,233 (119/631); Eugene Melnyk, $4,887,475 (176/1,316); Janis R.
