Thoroughbred owners and breeders can now use the camera within their iPhones to take and submit identification photos for foal registration following the launch of The Jockey Club Registry application (app), it was announced today by Matt Iuliano, executive vice president and executive director of The Jockey Club.

The Jockey Club Registry app can be downloaded for free from the iTunes store at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-jockey-club-registry/id415303226?mt=8. A version for the Android operating system is scheduled for release later this year.

In addition to facilitating the photo requirement for registration, the app links to Registry mobile, where customers can access the Online Names Book, the list of recently released names and tattoo lookup.

The launch of the app coincides with new features added to The Jockey Club’s Interactive RegistrationTM service allowing customers to receive notifications of outstanding registration requirements via e-mail instead of traditional mail, saving time and postage. Customers who wish to continue to receive notifications by traditional mail can do so by changing their preference in the new Customer Profile section of the site. Notifications of impending registration deadlines will continue to be sent via traditional mail.

Interactive Registration is available at no charge at registry.jockeyclub.com.

The Jockey Club Registry app was developed by The Jockey Club Technology Services Inc. Other mobile applications developed by the company for clients include Registry mobile; the Equibase Racing YearbookTM, which provides video replays and results of all graded stakes races; Equibase mobile, which provides entries, results, carryovers, scratches and changes; mobile.equineline.com, through which users can access free 5-cross Thoroughbred pedigrees; and InCompass mobile, which features a Mobile Rundown app for racing secretaries and track executives.
