InCompass Launches Mobile Rundown App to Monitor Progress of Race Entries | |
Racing secretaries, assistant racing secretaries as well as designated track executives can now closely monitor the changing status of race entries on their smartphones using Mobile Rundown, the initial offering on the newly launched InCompass mobile, it was announced today by Brad Kimbrell, executive vice president of InCompass. Mobile Rundown displays in real time the number of horses that have been entered in each race, including sub-races and extras, so that racing secretaries at a glance can see which races have an insufficient number of entries and which races have reached or exceeded a pre-determined minimum number of entries. “Mobile Rundown keeps racing secretaries and assistant racing secretaries connected to the entry process when they are away from the racing office and is a first step toward expanding racetrack executives’ accessibility to critical information using a mobile platform,” said Kimbrell. “We envision additional facets of our Race Track Operations (RTO) system being rolled out on InCompass mobile to further facilitate the racing operation at racetracks.” According to P.J. Campo, vice president and director of racing for the New York Racing Association, “Mobile Rundown will be exceptionally valuable for those of us overseeing the entry process at a racetrack because we will know the status of any prospective race at all times and can act accordingly to fill the card.” “Racing secretaries are constantly multi-tasking so this first step in racing office mobility enables us to observe our entries and the setting of the race card from the convenience of our smartphones instead of tying up staff members to read the current count to us,” said Sal Sinatra, director of racing at Parx Racing. Racing secretaries and their assistants as well as designated track executives can access InCompass mobile by going to m.incompasssolutions.com and using their current RTO user names and passwords. InCompass mobile was developed by The Jockey Club Technology Services Inc. Other mobile applications developed by the company for clients include the Equibase Racing YearbookTM, which provides video replays and results of all graded stakes races; Equibase mobile, which provides entries, results, carryovers, scratches and changes; Registry mobile, which offers access to the Online Names Book, list of recently released names and tattoo lookup; and mobile.equineline.com, through which users can access free 5-cross Thoroughbred pedigrees. InCompass, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Jockey Club, is a technology solutions company formed in 2001 to centralize the software applications and systems that serve North American racetracks and simulcast outlets, thereby helping these facilities achieve operational efficiencies, reduce costs and increase revenue. The InCompass Race Track Operations system is installed at virtually every racetrack in North America. InCompass is also the industry’s largest provider of simulcast program pages through its Simo-CentralTM service. In 2008, InCompass played an integral role in the development, launch and maintenance of the Equine Injury Database™ and the Jockey Health Information System™, both of which are offered at no charge as an industry service.
