The Jockey Club Tour on FOX Sports 1, after recent stops at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif., and Meydan Racecourse in Dubai, returns to Lexington, Ky., Saturday, April 11, with the $300,000 Jenny Wiley and the $250,000 Coolmore Lexington. The telecast will air from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. EDT on FOX Sports 1 and will be streamed live on FOX Sports Go. The on-air duties will be handled by Greg Wolf, former jockey Richard Migliore, Andy Serling, Simon Bray and Alyssa Ali. The Jenny Wiley will feature fillies and mares 4 years old and up going 1 1/16 miles on the turf. The Coolmore Lexington, 1 1/16 miles on the dirt, is expected to showcase Kentucky Derby hopefuls Divining Rod and Tiznow R J. It is one of the last Derby prep races, and points for first through fourth are worth 10, 4, 2, and 1. The telecast will include features on Keeneland and the Lexington area, Coolmore Stud, and Walker Hancock, the president of Claiborne Farm. Tom Durkin, the former longtime race caller for the New York Racing Association Inc., Breeders’ Cup and Triple Crown races, will contribute a video essay focusing on the foals, sales and racing that make Keeneland such a unique institution. “We’re thrilled to once again showcase Keeneland and its rich history in the horse capital of the world,” said Jason Wilson, president, TJC Media Ventures. “The races and the features within the telecast should appeal to novices and longtime fans of Thoroughbred racing.” The America’s Best Racing handicapping challenge will benefit Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation, the nation’s leading source of private funding for equine medical research that benefits all breeds of horses. As part of a joint promotional arrangement with Autism Speaks, the on-air talent will all be wearing Autism Speaks lapel pins. About The Jockey Club About FOX Sports 1 |
