|Kimbrell retires from InCompass; Palmer to be named President and Dobbins Senior Vice President|
The Jockey Club today announced the retirement of Brad Kimbrell, president of InCompass Solutions Inc. (InCompass), effective January 1, 2020.
“Since joining The Jockey Club in 1994, Brad has been a tireless and highly effective leader who pioneered the automation of the racing office and horsemen’s bookkeeper function,” said James L. Gagliano, president and chief operating officer of The Jockey Club. “The software created and maintained by Brad and his team has been an indispensable part of the multi-billion-dollar racing and wagering businesses in North America and abroad.”
Kimbrell, a native of Shreveport, La., joined The Jockey Club when it purchased McKinnie Systems in 1994, which was renamed InCompass in 2001 as part of a corporate reorganization.
“It has been my honor to work with such a tightknit team as we have at InCompass,” said Kimbrell. “I have been very lucky in my career where each step forward has been more enjoyable than the last. I have my team and the entire management team at The Jockey Club to thank for what has been a lasting and wonderful experience.”
The Jockey Club will name Harold Palmer as president of InCompass. Palmer is also the president of The Jockey Club Technology Services (TJCTS), a leading technology and managed information solutions provider serving all affiliated and subsidiary companies of The Jockey Club in addition to various external customers in designing, optimizing, and supporting mission-critical technology assets.
Palmer has served as the president of TJCTS since 2014 and has been with The Jockey Club for more than 35 years. Palmer was hired as a programmer/analyst in 1983 and prior to his current position was vice president of software development.
The day-to-day administration and operations of InCompass will be the duties of Chris Dobbins, vice president of business development, who will be named senior vice president. Dobbins joined InCompass in 2011 as a business development manager. Before working for InCompass, Dobbins served as the senior wagering analyst for the Thoroughbred Racing Protective Bureau and the simulcast manager at Sam Houston Race Park, and he held various racing official positions.
“Under Harold’s and Chris’ leadership, we look forward to continuing to grow InCompass’ customer base domestically and internationally, rolling out upgraded systems such as Track Manager and debuting Interactive Racing Office, a web-based system that enables trainers to place entries via mobile devices or desktops,” said Gagliano.
