Ogden Mills Phipps:
Good morning, everyone, and welcome to our 62nd Annual Round Table Conference. We appreciate your interest in Thoroughbred racing, whether you’re sitting here in Saratoga or watching on our live video stream from somewhere else in the country or beyond.
Today’s agenda focuses on three vital and familiar aspects of our sport: safety, marketing and medication reform. We’ll hear from individuals within our industry domestically and internationally who are working hard to move our sport forward in these areas. We’ll also hear how another sport reaches out for its fans: in this case, the National Football League.
I think you’ll find the next two hours to be educational and thought-provoking, and I hope that you’ll leave here today lending your support to the initiatives you’ve heard this morning.
We’ll start, as we always do, with a report on the activities of The Jockey Club. Laura Barillaro, our executive vice president, will make that presentation. Thank you.
