Ogden Mills Phipps: Welcome to The Jockey Club's 53rd annual Round Table Conference. From its inception, the conference has been held with one goal in mind: improving our great sport.

We're grateful to all of you for being here today, and especially grateful to all of our speakers on today's program, who have taken a lot of time and effort to come and shed some light on their respective activities.

Whether it's industry economics, medication policies or marketing techniques, we are surrounded by change - and I think today's agenda really reflects that.

We will get started, as we always do, with the "Activities of The Jockey Club" and we'll hear that report from Dan Fick, who represents us so well on countless committees and projects throughout the industry."
