T.I.P. Horse Show and Youth Ambassador Application Deadlines Approaching

The Jockey Club Thoroughbred Incentive Program (T.I.P.) horse show applications are due September 30, and the Youth Ambassador Program applications are due October 1.

“Horse show applications are always due September 30, but we like to remind horse show organizers of the date because we want to support as many shows as possible,” said Kristin Leshney, T.I.P. coordinator. “The Youth Ambassador Program was added in 2016 and we are excited to continue for 2017. We want to make young Thoroughbred riders who would like to promote T.I.P. and the breed aware of the program and what is involved with applying.”

The Youth Ambassador Program was first introduced in February 2016, and each year T.I.P. will select 12 youth ambassadors. A youth ambassador’s role is to positively represent T.I.P. and the Thoroughbred breed at his or her local barn, shows, competitions, or any other activities he or she may participate in.

T.I.P. youth ambassadors must meet the following criteria:

      • Age: 18 years old or younger as of January 1, 2017
      • Reside in the U.S. or Canada
      • Own or lease a Thoroughbred with a T.I.P. number
      • Participate in T.I.P. (Non-competition award applicant or participation in T.I.P. sponsored shows or classes)

Information about the show applications and Youth Ambassador Program applications can be found on the T.I.P. website at tjctip.com.

Created and announced in October 2011, T.I.P. recognizes and rewards the versatility of the Thoroughbred through sponsorship of Thoroughbred classes and high point awards at sanctioned horse shows, performance awards, and non-competition awards.
