equineline.com Portfolio Service Adds Wireless Messaging to Menu

equineline.com Portfolio Service customers can now receive instant entry and result notifications through computer e-mail and handheld wireless devices that are e-mail capable as a result of recent enhancements to the state-of-the-art equine management service of The Jockey Club Information Systems, Inc. (TJCIS).

According to Gary Falter, director of product development for TJCIS, the wireless messaging service is ideal for owners and breeders on the go.

“More and more owners, breeders and trainers are relying on Palm Pilots, BlackBerrys, cell phones and other handheld devices to help them manage their professional and personal lives more efficiently,” he said. “Many of these devices are e-mail capable and can now be used to stay on top of pertinent racing information as it relates to horses in their equineline.com portfolio without needing to log onto the Internet.

“As an added convenience for syndicates and partnerships, multiple wireless e-mail accounts can be used so that all members receive entry and result updates simultaneously.”

Customers can choose to receive wireless entry and result notices via e-mail on any or all horses in their portfolio. With concise messages designed for wireless devices, the pertinent information in each notice can be viewed quickly in the subject line of the message. This information is also reflected in each customer’s equineline.com portfolio, which is updated in real-time as activity relevant to horses in a portfolio occurs.

Falter added that the wireless messaging service will be expanded to include workout notifications in the near future.

equineline.com is an innovative Internet-based service that helps owners, breeders and trainers manage their equine interests more effectively. While centralizing many of the services provided by The Jockey Club family of companies, equineline.com also allows customers to create a portfolio of horses and have that portfolio updated with real-time information.

A universal user ID and password allow equineline.com customers access to the Registry’s Jockey Club InteractiveTM service, where most Registry-related transactions can be completed online.
