equibase.com, the website for the Thoroughbred industry’s official database, hosted 456,793 visitors on the two days (Oct. 26 & 27) that comprised the 2007 Breeders’ Cup World Championships, including a Breeders’ Cup Saturday record of 234,310 on Oct. 27.

Total visitors on Breeders’ Cup Saturday increased 15.6 percent over Breeders’ Cup day last year, when the event was held on one day. Total page views over the two-day period in 2007 were 2,047,440.

equibase.com serves as a central source for essential pre- and post-race information throughout the year, but our major events always attract the attention of new and casual fans,” said Matt McCoy, Equibase’s manager of eBusiness operations and development. “The record traffic on equibase.com during this year’s Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup illustrates once again the popularity of racing’s showcase days.”
