T.I.P. Website Upgrade Enhances Performance Awards

A recent enhancement to The Jockey Club’s Thoroughbred Incentive Program (T.I.P.) website enables additional riders to be added to a horse’s T.I.P. number as long as the horse has the same owner and also enables owners and riders to submit their Performance Award applications through their respective T.I.P. accounts.

“While the redesigned website enables you to add riders to a horse’s T.I.P. number, T.I.P. numbers are still not transferable, so new owners should apply for a new number for their horse under their own account,” said Kristin Leshney, legal associate for The Jockey Club and coordinator of T.I.P.

Leshney also pointed out that the website redesign has made the Performance Award application process quicker and more efficient.

“In the past, owners and riders had to use printable forms to apply for Performance Awards,” she added. “Now, they can submit those applications online using their respective T.I.P. accounts on our website.”

The 2015 T.I.P. Performance Awards will recognize the Thoroughbreds that accumulated the most points between December 1, 2014, and November 30, 2015, at all horse shows in various award categories and divisions.

Results can be submitted online by December 20 at tjctip.com/default.asp?page=19. Forms sent by mail must be postmarked by the December 20 deadline. Additional information, including printable forms, is available at tjctip.com/Default.asp?page=25. Horse shows do not have to offer T.I.P. awards to be included in the Performance Awards.

In order to participate in a T.I.P. class or be eligible for a T.I.P. award, owners and riders must obtain a T.I.P. Number.

In order to participate in a T.I.P. class or be eligible for a T.I.P. award, owners and riders must obtain a T.I.P. Number.

To get a T.I.P. account that can be used at tjctip.com, owners and riders must sign up for Interactive Registration at registry.jockeyclub.com. Owners and riders should always apply for T.I.P. numbers under their own account so they can print T.I.P. eligibility cards and submit Performance Award information.

Created and announced in October 2011, T.I.P. recognizes and rewards the versatility of the Thoroughbred through sponsorship of Thoroughbred classes and high point awards at sanctioned horse shows, performance awards, and non-competition awards. Additional information about T.I.P. is available at tjctip.com.
