Early Registration Period for Pan American Conference Now Open

The Jockey Club, the breed registry for Thoroughbreds in North America, and the Latin American Racing Channel, a distribution company that consolidates horse racing simulcasts in the United States, Europe, Australia and Latin America, announced today that the early registration period for the second Pan American Conference is open and will continue through December 31, 2016.

The conference, a mix of business and social events, will take place in Washington, D.C., May 17 - 20, 2017, in the days leading up to the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Md. The Stronach Group will also play a major role in support of the conference, including hospitality around Preakness Day.

Among the prospective business topics are simulcasting, illegal betting, medication, harmonization of rules, international ratings and classifications, marketing, stud book issues, the importing and exporting of bloodstock, and Thoroughbred ownership.

The early registration fee (through December 31, 2016) is $1,000 for a delegate and $800 for an accompanying guest. The normal registration fee (January 1, 2017, through April 15, 2017) is $1,200 for a delegate and $900 for an accompanying guest. The late registration fee (April 16, 2017, through May 13, 2017) is $1,500 for a delegate and $1,000 for an accompanying guest.

The 2017 Pan American Conference, as did the one held in New York in June 2015, will include several premier social events at prominent landmarks around the Washington, D.C., area, concluding a trip to Baltimore on Saturday, May 20, for the Preakness Stakes. Attendees at the 2015 Pan American Conference witnessed American Pharoah’s Belmont Stakes victory when he became Thoroughbred racing’s 12th Triple Crown winner.
