TJC Tour on FOX Sports 1 Resumes with United Nations Stakes and 30-Minute Segment on “Pharoah”

The Jockey Club Tour on FOX Sports 1 will make a return visit to Monmouth Park in Oceanport, N.J., on Sunday, July 5, on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports GO (Digital) with a unique telecast highlighted by live coverage of the $500,000 United Nations Stakes and a 30-minute segment devoted exclusively to Thoroughbred racing’s 12th Triple Crown winner, American Pharoah.

The telecast, which will air from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. EDT, will open with a segment entitled, “American Pharoah: Finally the One.” It will include a live remote interview with trainer Bob Baffert and a feature on American Pharoah’s jockey, Victor Espinoza.

That section of the show will also include a feature on the 2015 Triple Crown, produced by America’s Best Racing.

As a “Win And You’re In” race, the winner of the United Nations will be guaranteed an automatic berth in the Breeders’ Cup Turf at Keeneland Race Course as part of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships October 30-31, 2015. Among the champions who have won the United Nations are English Channel, Manila, Sky Classic and last year’s victor, Main Sequence.

The United Nations Stakes, for 3-year-olds and up, will be contested at 1 3/8 miles on the turf, and the field is expected to include defending champion Main Sequence.

In addition to coverage of the United Nations, the Grade III Salvator Mile for 3-year-olds and up will be shown live from Monmouth Park.

“The United Nations Stakes has rich history as one of the country’s premier turf races, and we are excited to bring viewers to the Jersey Shore to see the 2015 edition and get a feel for the ambience at Monmouth Park,” said Jason Wilson, president, TJC Media Ventures. “The extended 90-minute telecast also enables us to update both longtime and new fans on American Pharoah and his historic achievement last month.”

The on-air duties will be handled by Greg Wolf, Richard Migliore, Andy Serling, and Alyssa Ali.

The broadcast will also highlight The Square Peg Foundation, a farm in Northern California that retrains racehorses to help challenged kids.

Following the United Nations Stakes, The Jockey Club Tour on FOX Sports 1 will continue on Monday, September 7 with live coverage of the Hopeful Stakes (GI) at Saratoga Race Course.
