The Jockey Club Denies Stud Book Privileges to Four Trainers for Violations

The Jockey Club announced today that one trainer will be denied all privileges of The American Stud Book for 10 years and that three other trainers will be denied the same privileges for three years. All actions became effective January 1, 2014.

The denials of privileges include the privilege of registering foals and the privileges of any registration process for any Thoroughbred. The denials of privileges are pursuant to Rule 19 of the Principal Rules and Requirements of The American Stud Book.

Anthony C. Agilar will be denied privileges for 10 years, starting January 1, 2014, for being determined to have twice violated applicable racing authority statutes, rules or regulations relating to substances that have been classified by the Association of Racing Commissioners International Inc. (RCI) as Class 1 or Class 2. The violations occurred at Evangeline Downs in 2012.

John T. Toscano Jr. will be denied privileges for three years, starting January 1, 2014, for being determined to have violated applicable racing authority statutes, rules or regulations relating to substances that have been classified by the RCI as Class 1 or Class 2. That violation occurred at Belmont Park in 2012.

Lonnie H. Vaughn will be denied privileges for three years, starting January 1, 2014, for being determined to have violated applicable racing authority statutes, rules or regulations relating to substances that have been classified by the RCI as Class 1 or Class 2. That violation occurred at Ruidoso Downs in 2012.

Daniel J. Werre will be denied privileges for three years, starting January 1, 2014, for violating applicable racing authority statutes, rules or regulations relating to substances that have been classified by the RCI as Class 1 or Class 2. That violation occurred at Turfway Park in 2012.
